Overview

 

English is a compulsory subject for every pupil at Loreto Secondary School, Navan where students have between five and six lessons each week.  Throughout the school, Literature and Language learning and teaching are closely integrated.  Students are set in mixed ability classes in 1^st year and Transition Year.  Students are then divided into Higher, Ordinary and Foundation Levels in 2^nd year and 5^th.   However movement between classes and levels continues throughout the academic year to ensure that students are sitting the correct level for their ability.
